To remove more difficult vomit stains make a solution of 2 cups water 0 5 cup white vinegar 1 tablespoon salt 1 tablespoon dish soap or laundry detergent and 2 tablespoons rubbing alcohol.

Then use a spoon or whatever you have handy to scoop up the vomit and throw it into the trash. First put on the gloves so you don t touch the vomit with your bare hands. Cornstarch hydrogen peroxide vinegar and baking soda will help you remove vomit stains from your carpets and get the puke smell out of your carpets. Mixing vinegar with hydrogen peroxide isn t recommended either because it creates fumes that can cause respiratory problems or skin irritation.

You ll also need some hardware to deal with the scooping and scraping side of things along with ideally some disposable plastic gloves and the usual cleaning essentials. Open up the garbage bag and start scooping up the vomit with your spoon and put it straight in the trash. Next dilute the distilled white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide with tap water. Spray the solution onto the area where the vomit is until the carpet is damp.

Having the bag open before you start saves you having to awkwardly do it with one hand while you are holding a spoon full of vomit. So keep the vinegar for use in your kitchen and bathroom but don t let it get near your fabrics or rugs.
